Mascha didn’t last long in banking and strategy consulting. Not because she couldn’t do it, but because the safe and well-trodden path was never the right fit for someone drawn to the edges of what’s possible.
Her first taste of what that looked like came at Ananda Impact Ventures, where she found herself surrounded by founders with the audacity to attempt what hadn’t been done before. That energy was addictive. But Mascha knew herself well: her superpower wasn’t building, it was spotting and shaping the builders.
Still, she wanted to truly understand what it takes. So she stepped into the arena herself, joining women’s health startup Ovom Care as Chief of Staff, learning what it really means to take something from zero to one, navigating the chaos, the breakthroughs, and everything in between.
Armed with that experience, she came back to where she belongs: seeking out and supporting the people crazy enough to reimagine climate, energy, and industry, and backing them at Hitachi Ventures. Mascha holds a B.Sc. in International Business from Maastricht University, an M.Sc. in Finance from Nova SBE, and an M.Sc. CEMS MIM from the University of St. Gallen.
