Pete Bastien is a seasoned venture capitalist with a two-decade track record of driving digital transformation and deep tech innovation on a global scale. As a Partner at Hitachi Ventures, he spearheads North American operations, identifying and cultivating high-potential startups poised to reshape industries. Previously, Pete held leadership roles at prominent corporate venture firms an mulitnationals including Next47, the venture capital arm of Siemens, where he orchestrated their inaugural investment. Prior to this, he led North American activities related the the venture ecosytem at Toyota Tsusho, where he led investments into startups and venture funds. Pete holds a BSME from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
